This page is a free online date countdown. Pick a target date, name, and timezone; the display shows remaining days, hours, and minutes until that moment. It is built for holidays, birthdays, exams, and travel days — not for a kitchen timer that you set in minutes.
A duration timer (the Timer module) counts down a length you choose, then rings at zero. This date countdown aims at a calendar moment. If you set New Year in Tokyo, the zero point follows that timezone even if you are elsewhere. Saved countdowns stay in My Countdowns so you can switch without rebuilding them.
Holiday presets jump to common public holidays. Each holiday page still uses the same countdown engine: a target instant, a sound when it hits, then count-up after zero if you leave the tab open. Create your own event when the preset list does not match.
Keep the tab open if you want the alert to play. Browsers do not ring from a closed tab or a sleeping laptop. Fullscreen helps when the countdown sits on a classroom screen or a living-room TV.
Use this tool when the question is “how many days until…?” Use the online timer when the question is “ring in 10 minutes.” Use the world clock when the question is “what time is it there right now?”

A visible date changes behavior. An exam countdown on the second monitor nudges you to start earlier; a launch date on the team screen keeps everyone honest about what's left. Choose the timezone that owns the moment and the countdown flips to zero at that local midnight — not yours.
Share the configured countdown by URL so everyone watches the same number. When the question is 'how long is this step?' rather than 'how far is that date?', the duration timer is the right tool.
