How to Add a Timer to Notion

Embed a free online countdown timer or digital clock directly in your Notion workspace. Copy a preset URL below, paste it into a Notion embed block, and start timing — no app install required.

  1. Open your Notion page and type /embed (or click + and choose Embed).
  2. Paste one of the onetimer embed URLs below into the embed dialog.
  3. Resize the block to fit your layout. Click Start inside the embed to begin the countdown.
  4. Keep the Notion page open while the timer runs. Sound plays after you tap Start (browser autoplay policy).

Ready-to-use embed URLs

Copy any preset URL and paste it into Notion's embed dialog. Each URL includes appearance settings optimized for Notion blocks.

5-minute break timer

Short break between focus sessions.

10-minute timer

Quick task or meeting countdown.

Digital clock

Live clock for dashboards and daily notes.

Customize your embed

Visit the main Timer page, configure duration, sound, and title, then click Embed in the Share section to generate a URL with your settings. The same works for Alarm and Clock modules.

Frequently asked questions

Can I embed a timer in Notion for free?
Yes. onetimer embed URLs are free. Paste a URL into Notion's embed block — no account or subscription required.
Why doesn't the timer sound play automatically?
Browsers block autoplay until you interact with the embed. Click Start inside the timer block first; the alarm will play when time is up.
Can I use iframe HTML instead of a URL?
Notion accepts embed URLs directly. For other sites, use the Embed button on the main Timer page to copy iframe HTML with the same settings.
What's the difference between a timer embed and Pomodoro?
Timer embeds count down a single duration. For multi-phase focus cycles with breaks, use the Pomodoro module at /pomodoro or pair a 25-minute timer embed with a 5-minute break embed.
